Kathmandu: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav was received by Deputy Chief of Mission and Acting Ambassador of India to Nepal Dr. Rakesh Pandey on January 21. The meeting held at the Vice President’s Office in Lainchaur was followed by an exchange of greetings and discussions on bilateral relations, cooperation and various other dimensions.
Vice President Yadav mentioned that Nepal-India relations have been strong for centuries at the social, cultural, religious, spiritual, economic, technical and people-to-people levels. He said that Nepal-India relations are based on universal equality, friendly cooperation, mutual respect and trust, and Nepal has been giving high importance to its relations with India. Yadav also expressed happiness that the Indian government has adopted a policy of giving special priority to relations with its neighbors under the ‘Neighborhood First’ policy.
Vice President Yadav stated that India is an important development partner of Nepal and expressed gratitude for the significant support that India has been providing in various sectors, including economic and technological.
He conveyed his best wishes for the good health of His Excellency the Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, and the progress and prosperity of the Indian people through Acting Ambassador Dr. Pandey.
During the meeting, DCM and Acting Ambassador Dr. Pandey said that India is ready to support Nepal in every sector. He stated that India is especially willing to support the sports sector, especially cricket, and said that India is ready to provide all possible support in the railway sector of Nepal.
