Kathmandu: WFP Nepal, together with NDRRMA and the local government, concluded joint monitoring of Humanitarian Staging Areas (HSAs) across Eastern Nepal.
The exercise helped assess local disaster preparedness, review operational readiness and identify opportunities to strengthen emergency response systems. From Birgunj to Bardibas, Basantapur and Biratnagar, the mission underscored the power of partnerships in strengthening disaster preparedness and community resilience.
WFP Nepal stated that HSAs are critical to prepositioning relief supplies and ensuring faster, more effective emergency response. They further stated that the findings will help strengthen evidence-based preparedness & enhance local disaster response capacity.
“By working hand in hand with the Government of Nepal & learning from the field, we can better protect communities before disasters strike,” WFP Nepal said.
