‘Nepal-China Ties Should Be Passed to Future Generations’ – PM Oli

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the importance of extending the deep-rooted friendship between Nepal and China to future generations. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.

Speaking at the Nepal-China Cultural Summit 2025, organized by Phoenix Inspiration to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, Prime Minister Oli said the event carried a powerful message about expanding cultural and people-to-people connections.

“Nepal and China are two ancient civilizations with historic bonds. This summit sends a meaningful message that cultural relations are key to deepening mutual understanding,” he said. “True friendship is not merely transactional; it is rooted in shared values, emotional connection, and cultural affinity. Such efforts will help enhance multi-dimensional relations and foster lasting goodwill across generations.”

Prime Minister Oli stressed that the government would leave no stone unturned to advance friendly ties, adding, “Friendship grows stronger with intention and effort, it must be nurtured and expanded continually.”

During the event, Prime Minister Oli presented awards to individuals in recognition of their contributions in various fields. Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, received the Youth Empowerment Award. The Business Leadership Award was jointly presented to Rajesh Kaji Shrestha and Birendra Raj Pandey, while the Education Excellence Award was awarded to Anuradha Sharma.
