Former Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa’s ‘Reimagining Nepal’ Launched in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: Senior Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa has launched his new book, Reimagining Nepal: A New Path to National Renaissance.

Published by Samvardhan Publications, the book was launched in Kathmandu on October 3.

Speaking at the launch, Thapa said the book examines the roots of Nepal’s prolonged political instability and growing public frustration, as well as persistent corruption, economic stagnation and institutional weaknesses.

The book presents Sambardhanbad, an ideology proposed by Thapa as a possible response to these challenges. According to Thapa, Sambardhanbad advocates “change with continuity”, placing the nation above party, ideology and self, promoting unity in diversity and good governance and embracing constitutional monarchy with inclusive democracy and Hindu Rashtra as Nepal’s civilizational identity.

RPP senior leader and writer Rabindra Mishra offered commentary on the book at the launch event.
