NRNA Forms 51-member Advisory Committee

Kathmandu: The meeting of the 115th International Coordinating Council of the Non-Resident Nepali Association has constituted a 51-member advisory committee including distinguished professors and experts.

Chiranjeevi Ghimire, Dr. Drona Rasali, Dr. Lakshmi and Dr.Manika Pradhan have been appointed advisors from America and Canada (American region. Ivan Sharma and Laxman Adhikari have become ICC members.

Famous anthropologist Professor David Gellner of the prestigious Oxford University from the UK, Professor Padam Simkhada, Professor in the field of teaching and public health, and former BBC journalist Bhagirath Yogi are members of advisory committee. Similarly, Poonam Gurung, ex-president of NRNA UK, and activist Lakshya Gurung, have been nominated as advisors as ex-officers and leaders. Kalpana Tripathi, Gaurav Raj KC, and Jagurt Poudel have been selected as ICC members from the women and the second-generation quota, while Dr. Sunil Shah is an expert member from the medical field. Rajan Khakurel and Ram Chandra Gurung are other members.

Bhawani Oli, Vinod Shrestha, Indra One, Hom Pandey, Surendra Sigdel, Dr. Jagdish Timsina, Dr. Puru Shrestha and Dr. Raju Adhikari are included in the advisory committee from Australia and New Zealand (Oceania region), while Diva Joshi, Karuna Rawat, Prof. Krishna Shrestha, Engineer Raju Upadhyay, Deepak Bhusal, Keshav Joshi and Mickey Subedi have been selected as ICC members. Harihar Aryal and Dr. Girish Kandel from Europe have become advisors.

Influential personalities from various countries in the Asia Pacific region are also included in advisory committee. Roshan KC, Dr. Saroj Kandel, Sudan Thapa, Dr. Kamal Lamichhane and Dr. Ram Giri have been nominated as advisors. Prof Bharti Limbuni from Thailand has become a consultant and Kumar Karki has become an ICC member. Krishna Pandey and Aruna Gurung have been nominated as consultants from Hong Kong. Devendra Naulakha from Myanmar and economist Dr. Angraj Timilsina from Singapore has become advisors.

Representation from the Middle East, Africa and other countries is also ensured. Yasmin Begum from Saudi Arabia, Narayan Chapagain and Utsav Amatya from Russia, RP Pant from Seychelles and senior industrialist Rajendra Khetan and Dr. Dinesh Paudel from Nepal have been nominated as advisors.

ICC decided to provide opportunities to new people for the nomination of advisors and honorary members by honoring those who have been advisors or honorary members. It was also mentioned that priority should be given to experts who have contributed in their respective fields.

The 115th meeting has expressed the belief that this broad and inclusive nomination will advance the Non-Resident Nepali Association as a more dynamic, dignified and strong organization working for the benefit of Nepalis around the world in the coming term.
