Kathmandu: Alliance Asia Nepal concluded the Nepal Disaster Preparedness and Logistics Study, closing with their National Dissemination Forum “From Assessment to Action” held jointly with HELP Logistics and World Vision International Nepal.
Two outputs have been finalized: the Supply Chain and Logistics Assessment and a Coordination Playbook for disaster scenarios setting out a phased pathway toward an integrated national humanitarian logistics network delivering assistance within 72 hours of onset.
The forum gathered National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal, Department of Roads, UNESCO Nepal, UNICEF Nepal, UNDP Nepal, World Food Programme Nepal, Save the Children Nepal, the Armed Police Force and others. The panelists included Goma Devi Chemjong, Under Secretary of NDRRMA; Ratindra Khatri, Technical Advisor at Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal; Food Technologist at WFP; and Nirpa Dhami, Manager at World Vision International Nepal.
