Kathmandu: Help Nepal Network Australia organized a charity dinner to help rebuild schools in Kalikot in Sydney on August 1.
The charity dinner was organized to help rebuild the primary school in Kalikot district under Karnali province.
The event named ‘Giving Initiative’ held at Jharna Function Center was attended by Ash Ambihaipahar, MP elected to Federal Parliament from Barton, Sukriti Bhatt, Councilor elected from Barwood Council, Dila Kharel, Global Coordinator of Help Nepal Network, Arun Singh Basnet, President of Help Nepal Network Nepal, Prakash Shrestha, and others
Addressing the program, MP Ambihaipahar said that she found the work being done by Help Nepal Network to be meaningful and effective. She said that she would support such welfare work as much as possible. Likewise, Councilor Bhatt said that she would take the initiative to support the construction of a library in Nepal on behalf of the Council.
Arun Singh Basnet, President of Help Nepal Network Nepal, said that they are moving forward with the campaign to create a renewable fund of Rs 10 crore. He thanked everyone who supported Help Nepal Network.
About 11,000 Australian dollars have been raised in the event, including 1,500 dollars raised by auctioning Harsha Gautam’s photo
Likewise, Dila Kharel, Global Coordinator of Help Nepal Network, recalled that Nepalis all over the world are serving their motherland to the best of their ability. “We are just a medium. Whether it is during the earthquake or the time of the Covid epidemic, the selfless support of the Nepali community in Australia is very appreciable,” he said.
The program was attended by local businessmen, social workers and second generation youth. Abhivind Khania and Miss Nepal International 2024 Karuna Rawat conducted the program in an interesting manner.
Santoshi Gautam, President of Help Nepal Network Australia, said that the money raised from the charity dinner will be used to help rebuild the Shree Khapar Mashta Basic School building in the remote Kalikot district. She thanked everyone who participated in the charity dinner.
In the program, tributes were paid to all 10 mountaineers, including the famous mountaineer Nirmal Purja ‘Nims Dai’, who died in an avalanche in Pakistan recently.
