Kathmandu: A five member delegation led by Chen Guanghao, Director General of Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in Chengdu, China visited Nepal Tourism Board as part of a three day official visit on July 23.
During the meeting, Director Chen emphasized the immense potential for promoting cultural, adventure and spiritual (Buddhist) tourism, highlighting collaborative efforts in these areas to further deepen mutual understanding, enhance tourism exchanges and contribute to the sustainable growth of the tourism industries in both countries.
At the same time, Hikmat Singh Ayer, Officiating CEO of Nepal Tourism Board, suggested Nepal could be a popular destination for Sichuan Province travelers due to close proximity, being just a short flight away. He further recommended Familiarization tours (FAM) for Chinese celebrities, media, bloggers etc as an effective strategy to showcase Nepal’s unique tourism offerings and to boost Chinese tourist arrivals.
