Lalitpur: A total of 313,300 visitors observed the Patan Durbar Museum in 2025, according to museum officials.
Administrative Chief of the Patan Durbar Museum, Sureshman Lakhe, said that among the visitors, 105,300 were foreign tourists, including 43,053 from SAARC countries. The remaining visitors were domestic tourists, comprising 40,400 students and 124,550 members of the general public.
The museum had received 318,337 foreign visitors in 2024. Lakhe attributed the decline in foreign tourist arrivals in 2025 mainly to the Gen-Z movement and ongoing road improvement works in the Patan Durbar Square area.
He mentioned that the number of Nepali visitors to the museum has been increasing every year. “While foreign tourist arrivals fluctuate due to changing national circumstances, the number of Nepali tourists is continuously rising,” Lakhe said.
