US Embassy Hosts Launch Session for the New Youth Council Nepal 2026 Cohort

Kathmandu: The US Embassy hosted the launch session for the new Youth Council Nepal 2026 cohort of USYC Nepal, a talented group of 55 young leaders selected from more than 1,600 applicants across Nepal.

Scott Urbom, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy, congratulated the participants and highlighted the important role these leaders will play in driving innovation, economic growth, and positive change in their communities.  During their one-year tenure, cohort members will also build leadership skills, connect with peers and industry experts, and prepare for future opportunities to benefit Nepal.

The Embassy stated that as the United States marks 250 years of independence, programs like USYC Nepal demonstrate our longstanding commitment to working with Nepal’s newest leaders across a wide range of professional fields.  A more prosperous Nepal creates new opportunities for trade, innovation, and long-term cooperation that benefit both the United States and Nepal.
