Nepal and Iraq Bilateral Relations

Nepal and Iraq established diplomatic relations on October 30, 1968.

Although neither country maintains an embassy in the other’s territory, Nepal manages its relations with Iraq through its Embassy in Kuwait, with the Ambassador to Kuwait is concurrently accredited to Iraq, reflecting the current diplomatic arrangement.

The two countries have maintained long-standing ties, including the bilateral relations involving Nepal’s significant contribution to UN peacekeeping missions in Iraq and efforts by Nepal’s embassies to support its citizens in the country. The relationship between both countries remains cordial, with diplomatic engagement conducted primarily through these regional embassies.
