Ambassador Bhandari Meets Newly Appointed Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Siam

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari met newly appointed Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Asad Alam Siam, on June 30. Ambassador Bhandari congratulated the Foreign Secretary Siam on the assumption of his responsibilities.

Both sides expressed satisfaction on the excellent state of bilateral relations between Nepal and Bangladesh and discussed various issues of mutual interest, according to the statement released by Nepal’s Embassy in Dhaka.

The discussion focused on the progress made thus far in energy cooperation and potential collaboration in additional hydropower projects. Ambassador Bhandari emphasized the importance of increased economic engagement, highlighting the major strides made in areas of trade, tourism, connectivity, education, and people-to-people connections.

Moreover, they also underscored the need for close collaboration within regional and multilateral forums, including SAARC, BIMSTEC and the United Nations.
