Ambassador Lamsal Holds Courtesy Meeting with Special Envoy Agotha

Kathmandu: Sewa Lamsal, Ambassador of Nepal to BENELUX counties, had a courtesy meeting with Anthony Agotha, Ambassador at Large and Special Envoy for Climate and Environment Diplomacy at the latter’s office on May 4. 

During the meeting, she briefed on the recent political development in Nepal, policies and priorities of the new government, and Nepal- EU partnership,  focusing on the negative impacts of climate change in Nepal.

Ambassador Lamsal also touched upon the potential areas of cooperation through the EU, including Global Gateway Strategy, upcoming Joint Commission, Sagarmatha Sambaad, and a climate change event organised by the Embassy of Nepal in the EU Headquarters, among others.

Ambassador Agotha, while welcoming Ambassador Lamsal, Nepal-EU leadership, partnership, and commitment on climate issues and looked forward to engaging more on climate issues with the new leadership of Nepal.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Nepal-EU cooperation and partnership in tackling the issues of climate crisis for a resilient and sustainable future.
