Kathmandu: Dhan Bahadur Oli, Non-Resident Ambassador of Nepal to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Vietnam on December 12, 2025, officially assuming his responsibilities to strengthen Nepal–Vietnam relations.
Following the ceremony, Ambassador Oli paid a courtesy call on the President, conveying warm greetings from Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel and the Nepali people. The President extended his best wishes in return and expressed confidence that the friendly and cooperative ties between the two nations would continue to grow.
Ambassador Oli also met with senior Vietnamese officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Director General for South and East Asia. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in multiple areas, such as establishing visa-free travel for ordinary passport holders, improving air connectivity through an Air Services Agreement, creating a Joint Consultation Mechanism at the Foreign Ministry level, expanding private sector engagement, promoting agro-forestry and herbal processing, and exploring a potential trade agreement.
In a separate program organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ambassador Oli highlighted the growing economic and socio-cultural ties between Nepal and Vietnam and encouraged businesses in both countries to strengthen trade, tourism, and investment partnerships.
Ambassador Oli reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation, guided by friendship, mutual respect, and shared development goals.
