Ambassador Thapa Delivers Closing Remarks for the Fourth LDC Future Forum

Kathmandu: The Fourth Least Developed Country (LDC) Future Forum concluded in Helsinki on May 21. The Forum concluded with a strong call for urgent global action to invest in the youth of the Least Developed Countries.

Delivering closing remarks, Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, emphasized that the future of LDCs depends on education, innovation, decent work, digital inclusion, and stronger global partnerships that translate commitments into concrete action.

He underscored that supporting the youth of LDCs is not an act of charity, but a strategic investment in a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable global future, while urging partners to move decisively from commitments to implementation and from promises to measurable impact.

Ambassador Thapa said, “We have knowledge. We have technology. We have tools. We have national and international frameworks and commitments. What we need is strong political will and robust partnerships.”

He stressed the need to move with courage, conviction, and concrete action in acting with urgency, solidarity, and ambition.
