Kathmandu: H.E. Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, met with H.E. Dr. Khalilur Rahman, President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Ambassador Thapa congratulated President Rahman on his election to the Presidency and conveyed Nepal’s full support and cooperation for a successful and impactful 81st session.
The PGA expressed his deep condolences to the victims and families affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. He also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the concerns and priorities of countries most vulnerable to climate change and disasters remain high on the General Assembly agenda.
They exchanged views on various issues, including strengthening multilateral cooperation and advancing a more inclusive, responsive, and effective United Nations. Discussions also covered the priorities of LDCs, LDC graduation, and addressing the impacts of climate change and disasters.
