Kathmandu: U.S. Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R. Thompson, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Kulman Ghising, on Wednesday and discussed the status of projects being implemented with U.S. assistance.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on Nepal–U.S. cooperation and the reconstruction of public infrastructure damaged during the recent Gen-Z protests. Ambassador Thompson, on behalf of the United States, congratulated Ghising on his appointment and extended best wishes for a successful tenure.
Minister Ghising outlined the key priorities of the new government, emphasizing reconstruction of damaged structures, holding elections to the House of Representatives, and promoting good governance.
Ambassador Thompson reaffirmed the commitment of the U.S. to continue supporting Nepal in these areas and to work closely with the government in advancing bilateral cooperation.
