Kathmandu: BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandey participated in the 7th Berlin Climate and Security Conference held in Berlin on October 23, 2025.
In his address, Secretary General Pandey highlighted that climate change has severely impacted the Bay of Bengal region, affecting sustainable development and posing risks to food, health, and human security.
He emphasized BIMSTEC’s key initiatives, including the implementation of the BIMSTEC Plan of Action on Environment and Climate Change, promotion of regional grid interconnection, and enhanced disaster preparedness.
Reaffirming BIMSTEC’s commitment, he stated that the organization remains dedicated to building an inclusive, secure, and climate-resilient Bay of Bengal region.
