Kathmandu: The 7th Meeting of the BIMSTEC Task Force on Traditional Medicine (BTFTM) was held from 26 to 27 November in Colombo, with an aim to advance regional collaboration in the traditional medicine sector.
Hosted by Sri Lanka, the meeting reviewed progress on the implementation of the Plan of Action and other key initiatives for the development of traditional medicine, including the BIMSTEC Traditional Medicine Portal, the BIMSTEC Pharmacopoeia, harmonization of traditional medicine curricula, and joint research efforts on COVID-19 and diabetes.
Moreover, they further discussed the operationalization of two proposed Centres of Excellence, one on Tropical Medicine and another on Traditional Medicine.
