Kathmandu: A book titled ‘Sumadhur Sambandhaka Sattari Sal’, literally translated as the 70 years of friendly ties, was released in Beijing on Saturday. Published by Nepal-China Media Forum, the book was unveiled amid a programme in the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
During the event attended by more than 80 Chinese academicians and other participants, Chairman of Forum Kishor Shrestha shared that the book is a written document detailing the Nepal-China relations.
He mentioned that the book was published commemorating the 70th year of establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. On the occasion, the Chinese scholars viewed that the book would be established as a milestone on Nepal-China relations.
Speaking at the event, Nepal’s Ambassador to China Dr Krishna Prasad Oli said that the book has documented the major milestones of 70 years of Nepal-China diplomatic ties adding that the book has kept the history of bilateral relations alive.
Likewise, a representative of the Confucius Institute, Prof Qiang Xiaoxian of Xiamen University, assistant general secretary of Yunnan International Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation Ren Chiqang and others praised the book terming it a useful and official adding that publication of this book in both Chinese and Nepali languages has helped the readers to comprehend the contexts of the bilateral relations.
At the event of the program, a question-answer session was also held. The book consists of major treaties signed between Nepal and China, China’s assistance of Nepal’s infrastructure development, Chinese investment in Nepal and other issues.
