Kathmandu: Chargé d’Affaires Scott Urbom joined the seventh and final provincial round of the Code for Impact Tech Hackathon in Kathmandu.
Code for Impact is a nationwide tech innovation programme aimed at empowering youth to address real-world challenges in Nepal. Supported by the U.S. Embassy Nepal and led by Aadyanta Advisory in partnership with AmCham Nepal, the initiative engaged nearly 175 innovators across six provinces and Kathmandu.
At the Kathmandu finale, Chargé d’Affaires Urbom observed young Nepali innovators pitching technology-driven solutions to local challenges. Two teams advanced as national semifinalists, joining 14 teams from across the country who will continue to receive mentorship from U.S. companies and members of AmCham Nepal.
The programme promotes shared U.S.–Nepal priorities, including youth employment, private sector-led growth in agriculture and health, ethical technology development, and strengthened commercial ties. By connecting local innovators with U.S. firms and global opportunities, Code for Impact seeks to foster sustainable economic growth and innovation.
