Kathmandu: Maeda Toru, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, watched a special screening of Japanese film “Climbing for Life” at the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival on May 30. The drama features Japanese actor portraying Junko Tabei as the main character and is based on her adventurous life.
Previously, ‘Climbing for Life’ was also screened at the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival held in October of 2025, to honor the 50th anniversary of Junko Tabei’s historic achievement as the first woman to summit Mount Everest.
