Kathmandu: Lok Bahadur Thapa, President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), delivered key remarks today at the opening of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) and the Civil Society Forum.
In his address at the main conference, President Thapa stated, “We must build on the progress achieved in the last decade. While the experiences of LLDCs are diverse, our shared vision is clear: to turn structural barriers into pathways for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development.”
Similarly, speaking at the Civil Society Forum of the conference, he highlighted the vital role of grassroots action, saying, “From climate resilience to digital access, and from fair financial systems to supporting rural livelihoods, civil society is turning Global Goals into local action.”
