Kathmandu: President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Lok Bahadur Thapa met Robbert Dijkgraaf, President-Elect of the International Science Council (ISC).
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening collaboration between ECOSOC and the ISC in advancing science and technology for sustainable development. Their discussions covered joint efforts through the Science, Technology and Innovation Forum (STI Forum), the Technology Facilitation Mechanism, the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), and the Financing for Development Forum (FfD Forum).
President Thapa emphasized the importance of science-driven multilateral cooperation in delivering better global goals and achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
