Kathmandu: The Indian Embassy lays Foundation Stone for the Construction of Ilam Hospital Emergency Bank in Ilam Municipality in Koshi Province, on April 24. The stone was jointly laid by Gitanjali Brandon, Counsellor in the Embassy, and Kedar Thapa, Mayor of Ilam Municipality.
The Ilam Hospital Emergency Block is being built with Government of India’s financial assistance of Nepali Rupees 94 million approximately. This High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), will be implemented through Ilam Municipality.
The Mayor of Ilam Municipality and other stakeholders appreciated the developmental support being provided by the Government of India, and expressed confidence that the new facility would help promote access to healthcare services in Ilam Municipality.
The Embassy stated that as close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
