Embassy of Nepal Completes Public Awareness Program in Abu Dhabi

Kathmandu: With the aim of addressing various issues related to labor in view of the paramount interest and safety of Nepali workers working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi has completed a public awareness program on labor awareness, interaction and first aid on June 21 at Taw-Jeeh Assembly Hall, Musaffah-44, Abu Dhabi.

Nepali workers participating in the program were provided with detailed information on labor laws of the United Arab Emirates, rights and duties of workers, grievance management process, safe foreign employment, Nepal’s foreign employment legal system and Social Security Fund (SSF). Also, information about MOFA Mitra App, Nagarik App and MOHRE App was given with the aim of providing easy access to various government services to the workers and necessary facilitation was also done to install the apps on mobile phones.

In this program, practical training was provided by Mr. Jagan Adhikari, a first aid trainer on behalf of the Nepali community, about the basic measures of first aid to be adopted in case of emergency health problems and accidents. Also, during the interaction, the participating workers raised various queries and problems related to their employment, service facilities, legal process and daily life. The embassy team provided necessary information, consultation and suggestions on those matters.

The participating workers expressed their special thanks and gratitude to the Nepali Embassy for conducting such useful and public awareness programs even on public holidays. The Embassy of Nepal, Abu Dhabi has been continuing these awareness-raising, interactive and service-oriented programs by reaching the labor camps and workplaces, keeping the interests, safety and welfare of Nepali workers working in the United Arab Emirates as a top priority.

Organized in coordination with Mazaya Recruitment Company in Abu Dhabi, Labor Attaché of the Nepali Embassy, Pankaj Lab Karna, Third Secretary, Sonia Dotel, Public Relations Officer, Raji Ahmed, and representative of the Nepali community and first aid trainer, Jagan Adhikari participated in the event.
