Embassy of Nepal Celebrates 263rd Nepali Army Day in Islamabad

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal organized a programme to observe the 263rd Nepali Army Day on April 15. Lieutenant General Tabassam Habib was the Chief Guest,  while the event was attended by senior Pakistani military officers, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, military attachés and the Nepali community in Islamabad.

Addressing the event, Rita Dhital, Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan, emphasized that the Nepali Army has stood as an institution embodying bravery and discipline for over two and a half centuries. She highlighted its evolving role as a partner in national development and as a first responder during natural disasters like earthquakes and floods. Ambassador Dhital further mentioned that the Nepali Army is also playing a vital role in the UN Peacekeeping Missions, earning pride for Nepal as the top contributor currently. She added that Nepal and Pakistan share an enduring friendship built on mutual respect and goodwill.

In his welcome remarks, Brigadier General Bhes Bahadur KC, Military Attache, shed light on the long history of the Nepali Army marked by dedication, courage and service to the nation. He highlighted that the Nepali Army has remained steadfast in safeguarding sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Nepal. He appreciated Pakistan for providing various types of support, while commending training and other exchanges that have further contributed to enhance good relations in this sector.
