Embassy of Nepal Organizes a Program on International Yoga Day in Doha

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal, in cooperation and coordination with Life Sciences, Qatar, organized a program on the occasion of International Yoga Day at the Embassy Hall in Doha on June 21. International Yoga Day has been celebrated since 2015 after the United Nations recognized June 21 as Yoga Day on December 11, 2014.

Gangaram Phuyal, Co-Convener of Life Sciences in Qatar, highlighted the importance of International Yoga Day in the program which started with the playing of Nepal’s national anthem. During the speech, he expressed the view that yoga is useful not only for a particular age, religion or community but for the entire human race. Vidya Rai, Trainer from Jeevan Vigyan in Qatar, taught various types of yoga exercises and meditation to all those present at the event.

Concluding the program, the Acting Ambassador of the Embassy, H.E. Kumar Rai, highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life and its positive effects on physical and mental health. He also thanked everyone present at the event, encouraging them to make yoga a part of their daily routine. The program conducted by Shobhakhar Baral, Assistant of the Embassy, ​​was actively participated by the embassy family as well as about 40 Nepalis living in Qatar.
