Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, has departed for China to participate in the 5th Energy Ministerial Meeting organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province.
The meeting, which runs from June 23 to June 27, will focus on key issues related to energy development and future cooperation among participating nations, according to the Energy Minister’s Secretariat.
Energy ministers from nine SCO member states, including China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with representatives from three observer countries and 14 dialogue partner nations, are attending the event.
Minister Khadka is scheduled to address the inaugural session of the ‘Integrated Innovation for Energy Future’ program on June 26 and take part in various meetings on the same day. A bilateral meeting with China’s National Energy Administrator is also planned for June 27, where discussions will be held on enhancing energy cooperation between Nepal and China.
