Kathmandu: The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Nepal marked the 25th anniversary of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda by hosting an interaction with members of the Conflict Victim Women’s Network (CVWN) from across Nepal on October 31.
The discussion highlighted CVWN’s continued advocacy as a powerful reminder of the importance of the WPS Agenda, rooted in UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820, which upholds the rights, protection, and agency of women and girls, ensuring their meaningful participation in all stages of conflict prevention, peacemaking, peacebuilding, and post-conflict recovery.
“As a longstanding supporter of Nepal’s progress on the WPS Agenda, we listened to CVWN members share their insights on the implementation of the National Action Plan II. We also reaffirmed our commitment to supporting these efforts so that women continue to have a strong voice in shaping the country’s future,” stated the European Union in Nepal.

Moreover, the EU further emphasized its ongoing support through the “Sharing and Amplifying Her Allegorical Stories – SAHAS for Justice 3.0” project, implemented by The Story Kitchen and CVWN. The initiative aims to assist survivors of the insurgency in accessing justice, rebuilding their confidence and lives, and contributing to the development of their communities.
