Kathmandu: FAO Nepal completed the Regional Exchange on Indigenous Integrated Fire Stewardship Practices and Knowledge.
This program brought participants together to learn from Indigenous wisdom, lived realities, and community-led practices. Field engagement with the Chepang community in Dhading and concluding regional dialogue underscored the importance of Indigenous knowledge—such as shifting cultivation, local biodiversity, and customary land-use—in shaping inclusive, sustainable, and context-specific fire stewardship approaches for the future.
