FAO Nepal Organizes Webinar on Chure Conservation

Kathmandu: FAO Nepal organized a webinar called “Webinar on Resilient Chure: Advancing Chure Conservation for Climate and Communities” on June 4. The organization thanked the participants of the webinar and stated that their participation and insights contributed to a meaningful discussion on strengthening resilience in Nepal’s Chure region.

Mr. Ken Shimizu, FAO Representative for Bhutan and Nepal, highlighted that Chure region, one of Nepal’s most fragile yet vital ecological zones, plays a critical role in sustaining ecosystems and livelihoods, calling for collective action to restore degraded landscapes and strengthen resilience for communities that depend on it.

FAO Nepal gave their sincere appreciation to the esteemed panelists Mr. Ganesh Poudel, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest, and Environment; Ms. Madhuri Mahato, Journalist at BBC Nepali Sewa; Dr. Bijaya Kumar Singh Danuwar, Chure Expert; and Ms. Rama Paudel, Chairperson of the HIMAWANTI Madhesh Province, for their insightful contribution to the discussion.
