Kathmandu: Finland’s Ambassador to Nepal, Petri Puhakka, conducted his first field visit to Karnali Province last week.
Finland has been a long-term development partner of Nepal, particularly in the hilly and far-western regions, supporting projects in water supply, sanitation, climate resilience, education, and gender equality.
During the visit, Ambassador Puhakka met with local government representatives, school officials, field staff, and community members, receiving a warm welcome from the people of Karnali.
He observed several bilateral and Team Europe projects, including the LACC Project, SUSWA, and Tecses Nepal, as well as Finland-supported initiatives implemented by UN Women Nepal, Cities 4 Women, and UNICEF Nepal.
Ambassador Puhakka noted that while significant progress has been made over the years, continued collaboration is essential to sustain and deepen these achievements.
