Kathmandu: The President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, held a meeting with Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry, on January 5.
During the meeting, they reaffirmed the strong Nepal–Qatar bilateral ties and deep-rooted people-to-people relations.
FNCCI President Dhakal further expressed FNCCI’s readiness to operationalize the Nepal–Qatar Joint Business Council, building on the understanding reached in 2023 during the visit of the Amir of Qatar to Nepal.
Dhakal also highlighted Nepal’s openness to Qatari investment in key sectors, including hydropower, renewable energy, tourism, information technology, and infrastructure, while also encouraging Nepali businesses to explore growing opportunities in Qatar.
He further extended a warm invitation to Sheikh Khalifa and a Qatar Chamber delegation to participate in FNCCI’s upcoming Annual General Meeting, aimed at generating direct engagement with Nepal’s private sector leaders.
