Foreign Affairs Ministry Holds the 6th Meeting of the High-Level Emergency Response Team

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the 6th meeting of the High-Level Emergency Response Team (ERT) formed under the convenorship of Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai on April 20.

Upon reviewing the decisions of the previous five meetings, discussions and decisions were made on important matters including recommending the opening of all labor destination countries in West Asia for foreign employment, resuming the issuance of new labor permits (Labour Permit), Re-entry Work Permits, and legalization (Legalisation) services, restarting the process for authenticating worker demand letters, continuing the registration of Nepali citizens in West Asia as a permanent structure, keeping the Emergency Control Room (ECR) open during daytime hours and designating staff during nighttime hours to provide telephone services equipped with data and internet to ensure 24-hour service, and operating the Rapid Response Teams formed in missions as a permanent structure.

In the context of the evolving situation in the West Asia region, the aforementioned task force, established for the effective, coordinated, and swift management of the overall situation to ensure the safety and welfare of Nepali citizens there, is carrying out the necessary actions in this regard.
