Kathmandu: Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, arrived in Beijing on the morning of June 14. He arrived in the People’s Republic of China on an official visit at the cordial invitation of H.E. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
He was extended a warm welcome at the Beijing Capital International Airport by the Acting Ambassador of the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, H.E. Roshan Khanal, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Minister attended the welcome reception, hosted in his honour by the Embassy and also interacted with the Nepali community. While addressing the event, he highlighted the current Government’s priority to institutionalizing good governance, economic development and prosperity. He also invited the Nepali community to actively participate in the nation building campaign in Nepal.
He planted a sapling at the Embassy premises and also received briefings from Acting Ambassador Khanal and other officials on the functioning and priorities of the Embassy. Minister Khanal instructed the Embassy to promote the interests of Nepal in China and provide efficient services to Nepalis.
