Kathmandu: Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, received a telephone call from Anita Anand, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Canada, on September 1.
During the conversation, the two Foreign Ministers discussed matters relating to the damage and destruction caused by the recent floods in Nepal.
Minister Anand expressed her deepest condolences and solidarity with the people of Nepal at this hour of grief.
Minister Khanal expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Canada for the support of CAD 5 million and pledge of additional CAD 100 million from joint pool fund.
He added that the Government is utilising all available resources for search, rescue and relief efforts for those affected, including the missing Canadian nationals.
