Foreign Minister Sharma Chairs The Session of the 12th NRN Global Conference

Kathmandu: Bala Nanda Sharma, Foreign Minister of Nepal, chaired the Inaugural session of the 12th NRN Global Conference and the NRNA International General Assembly held in Kathmandu on March 14.

On the occasion, the honorary minister highlighted the importance of mobilising the knowledge, skills, capital, and resources of Non-Resident Nepali (NRNs) for the socio-economic development of Nepal.

He also appreciated the NRNA for its contributions to protecting and promoting the interests of Nepali nationals abroad, including in the context of the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

The Minister underlined the importance of upholding the hard-earned unity of the organization and extended his best wishes for the successful holding of the NRN Convention, expressing hope that it would further strengthen unity, harmony and cooperation among the Nepali diaspora in pursuit of its founding goals.

The three-day NRNA Convention is scheduled to conclude with the election of a new NRNA International Coordination Council (ICC) and the adoption of the “Kathmandu Declaration.”
