Foreign Minister Sharma Leaves for Bangladesh to Attend Oath Ceremony of Newly Elected Government

Kathmandu: Bala Nanda Sharma, Minister for Foreign Affairs, departed for Dhaka, Bangladesh, today to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected government of Bangladesh.

The visit reflects Nepal’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh.

Minister Sharma is accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Last week, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won with a thumping majority. BNP leader Tarique Rahman is going to take the oath as the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on February 19, 2026.
