Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised a “Wellness Walk” today along the Haatiban–Champadevi trail in Dakshinkali Municipality to celebrate the first-ever International Wellness Day on April 18.
The event was held to promote wellness awareness while showcasing Nepal’s natural trails as ideal settings for holistic health activities.

Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, and senior government officials participated in the walk, reaffirming a shared commitment to wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
Welcoming the participants, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai highlighted Nepal’s policy commitment to becoming a premier wellness destination. He noted that the United Nations adopted Nepal’s proposal to observe International Wellness Day every year on April 15, underscoring the country’s growing role in promoting global wellbeing.

During the programme, Jeevan Vigyan instructor Prateek Sharma demonstrated fundamental techniques of Asan, Pranayam, and Dhyan for participants.
