Friends of Silk Road Club–Nepal Hosts Seminar on China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and Its Relevance for Nepal

Kathmandu: The Friends of Silk Road Club–Nepal (FOSR-Nepal) organized a national-level seminar titled “Understanding China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) and Its Relevance for Nepal’s Development Path” at Hotel Malla, Lainchaur, Kathmandu.

The event brought together senior policymakers, economists, academics, political analysts, private sector representatives, and youth leaders to discuss China’s forthcoming development strategy and its implications for Nepal’s national planning.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, former Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, highlighted that Nepal could draw lessons from China’s focus on technological innovation, high-quality growth, and long-term planning to accelerate its own development and strengthen participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Speakers including Mr. Gadesh Paudel, Jhalak Subedi, and Prof. Sanjay Acharya discussed opportunities for Nepal–China collaboration in innovation, green growth, digital transformation, and youth engagement.

Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma, Chairperson of the Nepal-China Friendship Forum, emphasized the importance of understanding China’s evolving policies for Nepal’s future planning and cooperation frameworks.
