‘Friendship City’ Agreement between Wyndham City of Australia and Godavari Municipality

Kathmandu: A ‘Friendship City’ agreement has been formally signed between Wyndham City in Victoria, Australia, and Godavari Municipality in Lalitpur.

A collaboration agreement was signed at a special event held in Wyndham City. The agreement was signed by Mayor Preet Singh on behalf of Wyndham City and Administrative Chief Man Bahadur Khadka on behalf of Godavari Municipality. They thanked the tourism businessman and engineer Dean Ghising for coordinating the agreement.

Both sides have mentioned this collaboration as an important and historic achievement in expanding international relations at the local level. “This historic agreement aims to expand mutual cooperation, experience exchange and long-term relations between the two cities”, the agreement states.

Godavari Municipality of Lalitpur is known as an area rich in natural beauty, biological diversity and cultural heritage. Similarly, Wyndham City is known as an excellent example of modern infrastructure, multicultural society and sustainable urban development. In the agreement, both parties have committed to further expand mutual visits, cultural exchanges and institutional cooperation in the future.

There was a significant presence of entrepreneurs, businessmen and local representatives of Nepali origin in the program. The participants welcomed the agreement as a historic step to further strengthen the long-term diplomatic relations between Nepal and Australia at the local level.

It is expected that cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, culture, environmental protection, economic development and community development will bring long-term benefits to the two cities.

It is believed that the agreement will help to expand the diplomatic relations between Nepal and Australia that have been maintained for the past 66 years at the local level.
