Kathmandu: Hari Dharel has been appointed as the Consul General of Denmark to Nepal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the proposal of the Government of Denmark, recently promoted Dharel who has been serving as Honorary Consul since 2017, to the new position.
The appointment was made in accordance with Nepal’s Honorary Consul Regulation 2039. Dharel has been involved in Nepal’s mountain tourism sector for more than 35 years and has been active in the diplomatic field for the past eight years.
He has been working to strengthen Nepal–Denmark relations, particularly at the people-to-people level. Stating that the two countries enjoy close relations, Dharel said he would continue efforts to further expand bilateral ties.
