High-Level Engagements with Japan Foundation and Japan Foundation Center Strengthen Nepal–Japan Cooperation

Kathmandu: Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal held high-level meetings with the Japan Foundation and the Japan Foundation Center in Tokyo on the same day, at their respective offices, advancing dialogue on cultural diplomacy and international cooperation.
The meeting with the Japan Foundation—an institution under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, with a global presence across more than 25 countries—focused on enhancing Nepal–Japan cultural relations. Both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in cultural diplomacy, academic exchange, and intellectual engagement. Ambassador Dr. Dhakal highlighted the role of the International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) and expressed a shared interest in working together to strengthen cultural diplomacy between Nepal and Japan.

Earlier, Ambassador Dr. Dhakal visited the Japan Foundation Center (JFC), a leading platform representing approximately 300 philanthropic organizations in Japan. Discussions centered on understanding Japan’s philanthropic landscape and exploring potential partnerships with member foundations in areas such as development cooperation, research, and global dialogue.
Bimal Dhakal, co-founder, also participated in the meetings, contributing to discussions on fostering institutional partnerships and expanding collaborative initiatives between Japan and Nepal.

These engagements reflect a growing commitment to deepening Nepal–Japan relations through cultural, intellectual, and development-oriented cooperation
