Kathmandu: Following the Rasuwa-Kyirong flood, ICIMOD an NDRRMA Nepal convened experts and authorities from across the region to strengthen cooperation on cascading mountain risks.
Participants agreed on key elements of a draft Action Plan to improve risk monitoring, cross-border information sharing, and early warning systems.
Swiss Ambassador Danielle Meuwly chaired the closing roundtable. Switzerland shared lessons from the evacuation of Blatten in 2025 while learning from partners across the region. Switzerland and Nepal, both mountain countries, continue to work together to strengthen resilience to mountain hazards.
