Kathmandu: The Government of India has expressed deep sorrow over the recent violence in Nepal that has resulted in the loss of many young lives. In a press release issued on Tuesday, New Delhi via India in Nepal extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

“As a close friend and neighbour, we hope that all concerned will exercise restraint and address any issues through peaceful means and dialogue,” the statement read, urging calm and constructive engagement in light of escalating tensions.

The press release further noted the imposition of curfews in Kathmandu and several other cities across Nepal. In this context, India has advised its nationals residing in or traveling to Nepal to remain cautious and strictly adhere to the steps and guidelines issued by Nepali authorities.
