Kathmandu: IRGDD President, Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, and Co-Founder and Publisher of The Diplomat Nepal Magazine, Mr. Bimal Dhakal, met with H.E. Md. Golam Sarwar, Secretary-General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), at the SAARC Secretariat in Kathmandu on June 4.
The meeting focused on regional cooperation, connectivity, and the evolving role of small states in regional and international affairs. Discussions also highlighted the importance of dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing in addressing shared challenges and advancing sustainable development across South Asia.
During the exchange, IRGDD highlighted its engagement with regional and international organizations, diplomatic stakeholders, policymakers, and experts on issues relating to international relations, development, regional cooperation, and diplomacy. The organization emphasized that its research, dialogue, and advocacy efforts extend beyond national boundaries and include a broad range of regional and global issues.
The Secretary-General appreciated IRGDD’s evolving role as a platform for dialogue, advocacy, and policy engagement and commended its initiatives aimed at promoting regional understanding, peace, soft power, and meaningful exchanges across South Asia.
