Israeli Ambassador Bass Lays Foundation Stone For a Memorial Park at Far-Western University

Kathmandu: Ambassador Shmulik Arie Bass visited the Faculty of Agriculture of Far Western University in Tikapur on March 15, where he laid the foundation stone for a Memorial Park dedicated to the 11 Nepali students who were brutally killed in the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.

The memorial park will honour the students’ hard work, dedication, and aspirations, and stands as a tribute to their memory and the strong people-to-people connection between Nepal and Israel.

During his visit to the Far-Western region, Ambassador Bass also traveled to Punarbas Municipality in Kanchanpur, where he met with Hon. Mr. Toya Prasad Sharma, Mayor of the municipality, Hon. Tara Lama Tamang, Former Member of Parliament and local officials to discuss community development and opportunities for cooperation.

The Ambassador also met with Mr. Bimal Bhandari, returnee farmer who had participated in Israel’s “Learn and Earn” agricultural program. After returning to Nepal, he has been applying the knowledge and skills gained in Israel and is currently engaged in banana farming.

The visit reflected the strong and enduring ties between Nepal and Israel.
