Japan Extends Condolences to Nepal Over Flood and Landslide Tragedy

Kathmandu: Japan’s Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and destruction caused by the recent landslides and floods in Nepal and India.

In a message of condolence to Nepal’s Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Minister Iwaya said, “I am deeply saddened to learn that landslides and floods set off by incessant rainfall in Nepal and India have resulted in the loss of many precious lives and the displacement of many people, especially in their eastern areas.”

He added, “I pray for the souls of the victims and extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I would also like to express my sincere wishes for the recovery of the affected people and the swift reconstruction of the affected areas.”
