Kathmandu: The Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Maeda Toru, held a meeting with Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal at the Ministry of Finance at Singha Durbar on September 28.
During the meeting, the discussion covered various issues, including Nepal’s current transitional situation, Nepal-Japan’s historic relations, and Japan’s support for Nepal’s socio-economic development.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Khanal underlined that the main task of the incumbent government, formed in a special situation, is to hold the election on the slated date, adding other activities, including reconstruction of various structures damaged during Gen-Z protest as well as socio-economic development, would be continued till the election.
Various issues, including the under-construction Nagdhunga Tunnel route project and the Koteshwor Intersection Improvement Project, for which an agreement is expected to be signed in the near future, as well as the Programme for Emergency Rehabilitation of Sindhuli Road Affected by the Flood, were also discussed.
Finance Secretary Ghan Shyam Upadhyay and Joint Secretary at the Foreign Aid Coordination Division, Dhani Ram Sharma, were also present at the occasion.
